Instant Recycled Christmas Card

Hello everyone!

Recently, I won the April Technique Challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and was invited as a guest designer for their upcoming challenge.

The challenge is:

Since its an embossing challenge, I was a bit hesitant at the start as I do not own any Christmas stamps nor dies. While going through my stash of old Christmas cards, I found one card which gave me an idea for an instant Christmas card. Along with some Christmas patterned paper from an old pack, I glued down the image to create this fun grid look. I heat embossed the edges of the patterned paper to get a nice gold effect that would match the colors of the image. I love making such instant cards as they are so versatile and at the same time I get to recycle old cards!

You can check out more details of the challenge here!

  7. I love the colour scheme here - very vintage. Re-using a Christmas card is a great idea - and that embossing around the edges is a great touch. Thank you for joining us at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge xx Lynda DT
