Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA as I was busy with college admissions. So I was watching a lot of Youtube videos and I'm hooked on to thefrugalcrafters videos. She's amazing and I love all her tutorials. I wanted to make a Fathers Day card, so I decided to make this easel card which is from one of her videos. Also, I've used the origami technique for the words- DAD. You can find the online. Here are a few closeups of the card.

Linking it up to the following challenges:
1)Tic Tac Toe-Challenge 12 (I used the middle column-layers/dimensions-the word DAD,jute/twine-i adhered twine along with sequins to the bottom and painted them black, masculine)
3)Pile it on-old new and blue (Old things used are some twine from an old gift box and the paper is an old gift wrapping paper.New things are the blue star sequins and my new stamps from Itsy Bitsy which I have stamped on my background)

Galaxy shaker card

June 11, 2016 Sidelle Menon 9 Comments

Hey Guys!
Today I'm back again with a shaker card.I saw a video on youtube a while ago on how to make a background shaker card and wanted to do so ever since. This is the card.
For the background,I painted a galaxy using my acrylic paints and for the shaker,I used different silver colored sequins and gems so that they represent stars.I also punch out some stars from a silver foil since I did not have star sequins.Lastly,I wrote the sentiment- LIGHTS WILL GUIDE YOU HOME as I felt it would suit the background perfectly. Here are a few closeups.I am sorry for the bad camera quality, will surely get better with time (:

Altered Chalkboard Journal Cover

June 04, 2016 Sidelle Menon 11 Comments

Hey Guys!So since a long time I wanted to alter a diary cover so that I could turn it into a journal for my work. But I never got the time until a few weeks back when I saw the challenge at Lessology was to incorporate Chalkboard into your work,I knew that this was the perfect time.So here is a picture of the diary before being altered.

And here it is after being altered.

I had planned it to come out in another way but since I was short on time,I decided to do it this way.Now the first challenge was-Chalkboard paint.Since I didn't want to spend money on buying the paint,I thought of making it at home. After watching many videos on youtube,I finally got the perfect recipe. So in a bowl I took 2 tablespoons of black acrylic paint and 1 tablespoon of baking soda.So the proportion should be 2:1.I mixed it and painted the cover.Next I started making handmade flowers by different techniques and it took me quite some time.Lastly,I arranged them to make a border and glued them down. This took me 3 days to make and I'm satisfied with the effort.Lastly since I didn't have chalk to write on,I was going to use my Camlin soft pastels as they are equivalent to chalks but I could not find them in time. Here is a closer look.

Linking it up to the following challenges:
1)Lessology-Chalkboard fun

2)The paper shelter-flowers

3)613 avenue create-Anything goes

Glue Painting Technique Card

Hey Guys!
So today I'm sharing a card based on the Glue Painting technique. So I've seen many videos based on this and I wanted to incorporate this into my card.
So first on a piece of paper,I drew a pattern on the paper and then went over it with my fevicol tube.Once that dried up,I colored in with my desired colors.I assembled my card with different types of handmade flowers. Here's a closer look at the flowers.
I would like to enter this for the following challenges:
